Mr Wayne W BradleyWayne W. Bradley, Sr.

The year’s end brings a lot of things—the holidays, family gatherings, house-cleaning of things you no longer need, and the opportunity to plan for a better New Year. This year, I am asking you to put DCHC on your year-end to-do list and become a Friend of DCHC.

Many people are not aware of the depth of who we are or what we do. Quite simply, we provide quality health and dental services to everyone, regardless of their ability to pay. This includes those who have insurance, as well as those who are under or uninsured. This is a major service, especially because we have six convenient locations within the boundaries of the city of Detroit. We are where we are needed most.

As an FQHC (Federally Qualified Health Center), we are federally funded, which means we must also abide by strict federal guidelines and oversight. This sometimes limits out ability to generate additional funds to underwrite service provision. That is where we get a little help from our friends, the Friends of DCHC; a certified non-profit entity comprised of folks just like you who recognize and respect health care for the valuable community asset that it is.

Our Friends do everything from host events throughout the year, and attend our health fairs to make manageable donations and legacy giving. You can fit into those equation where you are most comfortable, knowing that your tax deductible dollars are going towards making and helping to keep our neighbors and communities healthy.

Too often, we overlook and take for granted those things that are most beneficial, until we or our loved ones need to depend upon those same things; they require maintenance and support in order to be effectively maintained.

I’d love to have you join our growing circle of friends. It’s both meaningful, and fun. For more information, give our Chief of Staff, Derek Ware, a call at 313-821-2591 today, or log on to and register on-line.  Remember, you can never be too healthy, or have too many friends!
